Appointment FAQ’s
-
Please contact us for a list of our current fees.
There are no out of pocket fees for clients referred through Open Arms, Wellbeing Support, MAIB or Workers Compensation.
-
In order to receive a rebate for a mental health care plan, you must be referred through your GP. Private paying clients do not require a referral.
If you are with police, fire or emergency management, you can receive a referral from Wellbeing Support. For veterans, you can access a referral for support through Open Arms.
-
Your first session is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to treatment and what you hope to gain from the experience. Samantha will explain what to expect from the process and may suggest a few treatment options. Sessions are 50 minutes in duration, unless you are undertaking a treatment like EMDR in which your session may be 90 minutes.
-
In most instances, your sessions are completely confidential. Depending on your circumstances and referral pathways, this will be reviewed in the first session.
-
We require 48 hours for cancellation. There is currently a long waitlist to see a psychologist in Hobart, and this notice allows us to offer your appointment to another person in waiting. If you are unwell on the day of your appointment, you can opt for a telehealth appointment.
For appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours, a 50% fee will apply for the first instance and a full fee after this. Please note, for clients referred through a third party, cancellations requirements vary and will be discussed during your first appointment.
-
This depends on range of factors and will be discussed during your first appointment.
